Furniture and pots moved clear where possible, and loose moss, weeds and debris removed from the slabs and joints.

3. The deep clean

The patio cleaned with pressure and equipment matched to the stone.

4. Treatments where needed

Suitable treatments applied to stubborn organic staining such as black spot lichen.

5. Rinse down of surrounding areas

Borders, walls and nearby surfaces rinsed clean of splash and debris.

What types of patios can you clean?

Concrete slabs, paving flags, Indian sandstone, natural stone and block-paved patios. The stone is assessed first so we can use the right method for it.

Is pressure washing safe for Indian sandstone?

Yes, when it’s done properly. Sandstone is softer than concrete, so we use lower, controlled pressure and suitable methods rather than blasting it. That’s exactly why it’s worth using a professional rather than hiring a machine.

Can you remove black spots from patio slabs?

Black spot lichen is the stubborn one. It usually needs a targeted treatment rather than pressure alone, and results depend on how established it is. We’ll tell you honestly at the quote stage what to expect.

Will cleaning disturb the joints?

Loose jointing material can lift during cleaning. Block-paved patios can be re-sanded afterwards; failing pointing on slabs is a separate repair, and we’ll flag it if we spot it.

Will my patio be slippery afterwards?

The opposite. Removing algae and organic build-up is what restores grip, especially on shaded patios.

How much does patio cleaning cost in the South East?

As a rough guide, patio cleaning in the South East typically works out between £2.75 and £4 per square metre depending on the stone and condition. Smaller patios are usually priced as a minimum visit rather than strictly by the metre, which is why the rate runs a little higher than a driveway. How long does a patio clean take?

Most patios are done within a few hours. Larger or heavily stained areas take longer, and we’ll confirm timings with your quote.

Do I need to move my garden furniture?
