Hedge Cutting Service

Professional hedge cutting for homes and businesses in East Grinstead and the surrounding towns.

A neat hedge lifts a whole garden, and an overgrown one swallows it. We trim, shape and reduce hedges of all sizes with professional equipment, including tall hedges that are beyond a step ladder and a pair of shears.

Everything is cut to the height and finish you want, and all the cuttings are cleared away, leaving the garden tidier than we found it.

Professional Hedge Cutting Service

Hedges grow faster than most people expect, and once they get away from you they block light, crowd paths and take real effort to bring back. Tall or long runs of hedging are hard, slow work without the right kit.

Magnus looks after the gardening side of Exterior Services, cutting everything from small garden hedges to tall boundary runs using professional long-reach equipment. Hedges are shaped to your preference, reductions are done properly rather than hacked, and every cutting is raked up and taken away.

We cut hedges across East Grinstead, Forest Row, Oxted and the surrounding towns, as one-off visits or on a regular schedule that keeps them permanently in shape. And if the whole garden has got away from you rather than just the hedge, our garden clearance service brings it back in one visit.

Hedge Cutting FAQs

Helpful answers to common questions about hedge cutting services.

Yes. We use professional long-reach equipment, so tall boundary hedges and long runs that are beyond DIY kit are exactly what we’re set up for.

Near enough. Trimming is the lighter, regular pass that keeps a hedge, bush or shrub in shape, and hedge cutting covers everything up to full reductions. We do both, so whichever you searched for, you’re in the right place.

It depends on the hedge type, but most benefit from a late-summer cut, with formal hedges often needing two or three trims a year. We’ll advise on the right timing for yours.

We can cut year-round, but between March and August we check carefully for active nests first, because disturbing them is illegal. If we find one, we cut around it or come back once the birds have fledged.

Yes, always. Everything is raked up, bagged and taken with us, and the area is left tidy.

Yes. Reductions are done properly, taking the hedge down and in by the right amount for the species so it recovers well rather than being left bare.

Full hedge removal, stump grinding and tree surgery aren’t part of standard hedge cutting. Ask anyway and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s one for us or a tree surgeon.

Yes. Plenty of our customers have us back on a schedule, which keeps the hedge in shape and each visit quicker and cheaper than a big one-off rescue.

As a rough guide, hedge cutting in the South East typically works out between £5 and £10 per metre for hedges up to around head height, and £10 to £20 per metre for taller or overgrown hedges that need long-reach equipment or a proper reduction. Small jobs are usually priced as a minimum visit rather than by the metre. Send us photos from both ends of the hedge with a rough length and height and we’ll come back with a firm, free quote, usually the same day.

We’re based in East Grinstead and cut hedges across Forest Row, Oxted, Crawley, Crowborough, Lingfield, Haywards Heath and Tunbridge Wells. If your town isn’t listed, get in touch.
